We invite you to take part in our annual Remembrance Day leafleting action to expose the terrible reality of the First World War.
Tuesday November 11 – 10:00 am
Stadium Skytrain Station – Dunsmuir & Beatty
We will meet 10:00 am at the Stadium skytrain entrance at Dunsmuir and Beatty (downtown end of the Georgia Viaduct) to hand out an updated version of our leaflets exposing the reality of the First World War.
We are appalled that the Harper government is spending tens of millions of dollars to “celebrate” the 100th anniversary of this terrible conflict, which killed over ten million people – not for democracy or human rights, but for the sake of empire-building.
As always, our intention is to respectfully encourage people to think about the real causes and impacts of war – without getting into debates with those who might disagree with our views. Please join us!

We also encourage people to take in another important Remembrance Day
activity – a special screening of the classic anti-war film “All Quiet
On The Western Front,” Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1:00 pm at the WISE Hall, 1882
Adanac. Tickets are $10, the film is being shown by the World Peace
Forum Society and SFU Labour Studies.
StopWar is engaged in a new effort to step up the anti-war movement, inviting participation by all those who oppose Canadian military involvement in the wars in the Middle East and beyond. The next StopWar planning meeting will take place at 5:30 pm, Wed., December 3, at the Mount Pleasant Community Centre, 1 Kingsway (by Main and 7th).
